As a Yorkshire lass, I love a good old festival in my neck of the woods, and one with an epic lineup this year has to be Tramlines! Their main stage has some incredible headliners: Fatboy Slim spinning the decks on Friday night, Courteeners bringing their crowd-pleasing indie anthems on Saturday, and the iconic Wolf Alice on Sunday.

Blossoms are always my top go-see band. They have become a firm favourite of mine since seeing them back in 2023 at Kendal Calling. I only knew a few songs which were played on the radio back then, but the band had already been working hard for ten years at this point. Their unique sound and style, reminiscent of the 70s but fresh and new, drew me in. Their performances are always on point, and everything about them just works. The synth/keys in ‘Honey Sweet’ just filled a gap in the music industry that was missing and gave us all something juicy to tickle our earbuds and we all fell in-love with Gary, the giant fibreglass gorilla.

I highly recommend heading down to the main stage early on Friday to catch The Clause. I recently photographed them and was insanely impressed. They are a well-polished indie rock band from Birmingham who are headline-worthy! I think they will be headlining festivals in the next couple of years. Same goes for The Lilacs from Wigan, who were the support for The Lottery Winners at their big Leigh stadium gig. Both bands are working up to being headliners in my eyes.

The Lottery Winners are special guests this year on Sunday, and I insist you go watch these! Thom, their lead singer, is everything you need on a Sunday: he’s a comedian giving us all that much-needed energy boost to get through that last festival day, he’s a comfort blanket, therapist, and incredible songwriter. Those guys have some of the most catchiest, fun songs I’ve ever heard!  There will not be a dry eye in sight, and you might even pee yourself laughing!

The lineup has some classics thrown in there, like Gabrielle, Rick Astley (who is always fun to watch), Sleeper, and Inspiral Carpets— you know the one where Noel Gallagher was a roadie before Oasis was born?!

Of course, I can’t talk about the lineup without mentioning iconic bands like Wet Leg, The Royston Club and one of Yorkshire’s loudest crowd-pleasing bands, Kaiser Chiefs, who are all going to be big crowd pleasers.

I’ve never seen The Leadmill Studio Orchestra but if I’ve learned anything about festival orchestras, they always bring the party vibes and sing-alongs!

No matter who you have on your list to see, some of the most enjoyable sets can be found in those unexpected tents and wedged in between the acts you’ve got down early to see.
